Nursery

So this weekend my Mom and Theresa came down and we worked on the nursery. We painted the walls, stained the crib, and put everything together. It was so much fun. We painted the top part of the wall this really light green and the bottom part is a green called Christopher Robin's swing. I thought it was fitting since we have a classic pooh themed room. I am so happy. Caden has a place to sleep now. In fact he has two places to sleep now. I have no idea why but for weeks it has been bothering me that he had no where to sleep. Now I feel better.

The crib is 26 years old. It is the crib I slept in when I was a baby and Richard slept in it when he was a baby too. It is too cool that my baby will get to sleep there to. It is perfectly safe. We have a cradle that Theresa is letting us use so that Caden has a place to sleep in our room when he first gets home. Right now it is in the nursery too. I also have the rocking chair that Mom bought when she was pregnant with Richard. I will post pictures this evening when I get home.

Theresa showed me how to make the fabric I bought a year ago into curtains. So I also have the curtains up. I put the blanket that I have had since I was a baby in the crib for right now. It was my old Pooh blanket.

There is still a little work to do. We need to get a combo dresser/changing table and wall hangings. I think we are going to put the blanket my mom is making on the wall too when it is finished. I think we may also put up a chair rail and stain the book shelves so they match the crib a little better. We will see about that...

So a very big thank you to Mom and Theresa for putting all this together for me. I am so happy and relieved. :) I love you both.
