I have decided that waiting for your baby to decide that it is time to come into the world is a lot like Waiting for Godot...There is a great deal of talking about it and discussion about what you are waiting for. There is even anticipation for the event however the baby like Godot just never seems to arrive. (I know the baby will get here eventually...)
I just feel like the end will never be here especially between 6pm and 8pm at night. Caden has a nightly routine at that time that just about makes me want to cry. So rather than cry I do mutter a few bad words under my breath. The child just starts moving in ways that are very painful. He turns and spins on my pelvic bones and nerves and it sends sharp shooting pain through my pelvic area. They tell me at the doctor that this is normal. I feel badly for women who didn't have doctors to tell them what was normal and what was not. Because in my very firm belief pain is never normal. It should never become normal but apparently this pain is normal and the word is pain not discomfort. I am uncomfortable all day and I am in pain when he does that moving thing that he does every evening. Anyway...I guess it is good practice for labor.
So in case there is anyone who hasn't heard yet...which would surprise me because I have been bragging about it since the doctors visit...I was 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced as of last Thursday. The reason I was bragging is because I was so happy that all the pain and uncomfortableness that started last Tuesday was not in vain. Something is actually happening. Yay for me.
