Bitsy has been getting very old over the last month and during the past week she became very sick. We took her to the emergency vet clinic one night and then to her vet the next day. Her kidney values had shot way up again, higher than they had ever been before. She wasn't eating and she was shaking continuously. We brought her home and started giving her pain meds and antibiotics but on Friday she still wasn't doing any better. Friday night Chris and I tried to get her to eat we even gave her a stick of butter and a pint of ice cream but she wouldn't touch them. During the night she laid on the floor. She couldn't even get up on the couches. So on Saturday morning Chris and I made the very hard decision to take her back to the vet and have her put to sleep. She was in a great deal of pain and was not getting any better. It was so hard to do. We stayed with her until it was over and we will be getting her ashes back and have a ceremony at Chris' parents house. I want to put her back there. She loved "disney land".
I have had her longer than I have had any other pet. She was my first baby. I love her and miss her very much. She held on to meet Caden and we have lots of pictures of her with Caden. I miss her already and no dog will ever replace her. She was always there for me and would protect me from anyone and anything. I love her.

We are so sorry for your loss... We loved Bitsy too! There will always be a hole in your family. The best way to fill it is with memories.
Love you guys!!!!!
She was the very best kind of dog and I'm so sorry you've had to let her go. I'm glad she is no longer in pain...but I know it's hard to lose her! She's so lucky to have had you as her mama! Sending you a BIG hug! :)
Bitsy was a sweet girl. I loved her even when she'd get muddy paws on me =) I completely understand the connection...Pepper has been my sister through thick and thin and I love her more than anything, and I dread the day I will have to let her go. My heart is with you and remember that Bitsy will always be in yours.
